Dromen aan Zee now also by the Frisian Lakes
A new initiative from the people behind accommodation at the Lighthouse, Lifeboat and Dock Crane in Harlingen: Sinnehúske with a Sinneskou.
Dream away in a magnificent waterside lodge. Take a summer time trip across the calm Frisian waters. Available from May 2011 at the former shipyard in IJlst. Four very luxurious lodges by the waterside, right in the heart of the Frisian lake area. Each lodge has its own boat moored right outside the door (included in the price).
The sea may be magnificent, but the Friesland lakes can be even more attractive – especially when enjoyed from the fairy-tale Elfsteden town of IJlst as departure point. This was the premise of the makers. Sinnehúskes were designed and produced with the same care and taste as the other unique objects in Harlingen.
Truly attractive lodges
"These are really magnificent lodges in a very remarkable location," said Carla Comello, who together with Willem Koornstra manages the small-scale ‘Dromen aan Zee (Dreams by the Sea)'. "Sinnehúskes reveal a real love of form and material. The lodges are also almost entirely energy-neutral. Even the boats are charged by the sun."
Two- and four-person lodges
The two- and four-person lodges are of very high quality; each has its own entrance, parking space and waterside terrace. The Sinnehúskes are located on the outskirts of the historic town of IJlst. The surroundings are characterized by peace, nature and culture, while the lively town of Sneek is close by.Each lodge comes with its own boat.
For summer bookings, the price includes a solid electrically-powered scow. For summer bookings, the price includes a solid, electrically powered scow. Discover the extensive Frisian lakes and waterways in a Sinneskou. Buy fresh bread from the baker every morning: just nip across the two hundred metres of water in your very own scow! On request, a full breakfast can be delivered to your door.
TSinnehúskes are built sustainably using natural materials and reflect high architectural standards. Solar collectors and a geothermal pump provide hot water and heating, while solar panels generate electricity. Energy is conserved thanks to sound insulation and smart ventilation, making the craftsman-built timber houses all the more remarkable.
